Review of Restrepo (2010) by Radek C — 09 Feb 2011
If it was shot by real journalists who travelled all the way to Afghanistan then I have to say it's the lamest documentary I've seen in a long time. A year within a war zone, constant threat and all they get is THIS?
The story aside, well I have to say that at the beginning it seemed like another story of the brave marines fighting all the evil of the world (at the expense of the US government)... but then I realized it kind of tried to glorify American troops, to deny all these slanderous reports that they are too violent, that they loose their minds. Instead, having seen all the misery and suffering made them realise who they are and what's really important.
Did I buy it?
NOT ONE BIT!
