Review of Restrepo (2010) by Karlo R — 21 Feb 2011
I don't know what the military's rules are with respect to filming combat and troops in action, but I'm shocked that this film was made. Its real footage of real people in real battle. The reality of the drama and action is what makes the film riveting.
As riveting as it is, the interviews don't carry the punch of those that were seen in 'Band of Brothers,' and the score/music didn't have the firepower of the greatest films about war, like 'Saving Private Ryan.' As a result, the full potential of the film isn't realized.
Even though the film doesn't be all that it can be, I highly recommend it for its actuality and to honor those that fight for the freedoms we enjoy.
