Review of Restrepo (2010) by Graham K — 02 Sep 2012
Open up your eyes fellow Americans and take a look at the war policy your country and tax dollars are enforcing. This true grit documentary is difficult to watch and every American (17 or older, since that's the age you need to be to kill for the US of A) should watch it to evaluate for yourself the violence and emotional trauma caused by military action.
Then ask yourself if you can live with the trillion dollar, superpower, machismo-charged, human violence that has weak rationale, and long lasting detrimental effects. Ask again and again as you look into the eyes of these young soldiers who we asked to go overseas for asinine reasons, rather than putting such enormous amounts of money toward diplomacy, education, and humane support services.
...yes it may take decades to take effect, but let's try to leave our evolutionary animal instinct for kill em all revenge at the door, and work toward a peaceful world! Banning weapons and weapons manufacture would be a good start! (Yeah.
..I know...dream on).
