Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) by Patrick D — 26 Jan 2017
This is more of the same. Six movies now that were never really good to start with and just got worse over time. The 5th movie in the series being an absolute piece of trash lit on fire. I was slightly surprised to see they were able to make a sixth movie.
With all that said, This is not even close to as bad as the last one, and as long as you know you are in for incoherent jump cut action. Few cheap jump scare attempts, characters introduced just to die mins later.
With all that said, The ending (hopefully) of this series is mostly handled pretty well. Its more of what you expect from these below average movies but it fit well enough with the overall story they have told, and by the end I did not leave hating this movie.
Being a massive fan of the Resident Evil video game series, that is about the best complement I can give. I did not hate it, Its still a bad movie, but unlike the fifth installment I do not feel like I should get a lobotomy to forget it.
