Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) by Gael C — 17 Feb 2017

It's really frustrating to see a franchise start average and get worse with each new installment. It's understandable when the creators struggle to improve upon or even recreate the same feel in a sequel to a good or great movie. But the first Resident Evil wasn't even that good to begin with and they manage to make it worse with each film. Finally and hopefully this is the last movie in this franchise and is by far the worst of all 6.

With very lazy camera work, choppy editing (that won't allow scenes to go 5 second without a cut), and an awful script that doesn't care about developing character. All the writers did, was try to create reasons to have action scenes and then try to jam a story somewhere around them. With fight scenes that make your eyes hurt and terrible CGI, it just looks like the Paul W.S. Anderson was tired of the franchise and just wanted to be done with it.

And one more thing: This movie tries to make callbacks to the first one while at the same time completely ignoring its story. Just don't watching, if the filmmakers don't care, why should you.
