After the first one, the Resident Evil movies should not be taken seriously. They are fun, popcorn, action flicks that just try and top each other with "how crazy would this be" moments. Most of this stuff is bat shit crazy but so is most of the games.
Just sit back and watch some over the top action. Turn brain off and enjoy.
