Review of Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) by Mole M — 26 Apr 2013
The way the Resident Evil keeps coming back with sequels proves that (1) there is a market for video-game style of story-telling in the cinema and (2) there is just sufficient new idea around rather flat and boring characters to make their story interesting.
I actually secretively enjoy lots of sequences and shots in this movie. It was plain boring , yes, but it was just appealing enough. When Alice entered the deserted Shibuya crossroad on a rainy night, the dejuva was as thrilling as it was refreshing.
Heard that there will be yet another sequel. The story that won't finish will continue on and on until no one watches it or no one cares to think of furthering it.
