Review of Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) by Amoviecritic — 21 Sep 2007
Despite a somewhat slow start, this became easily one of the best zombie movies I've ever seen. Action-packed shootouts, extremely awesome-looking zombies, some really gory scenes, an awesome setting, and some actual "character" moments really made this an awesome movie.
See this one with an audience, this is a real crowd-pleaser. I was also glad to see Paul W.S. Anderson (who continues to write this one,) stick a bit closer to the games. Wesker was played to perfection, Claire (although she has a different role here,) was also much closer to her character than Jill was in the last movie, and the Tyrant was 100% perfect.
(Although I kinda wish his fight scene was a little longer.) This has also got easily one of the best crow attacks I've ever seen in a movie. Completely, totally recommended. It's a blast. Some great action and some surprisingly well-shot scenes.
That crow attack was easily a highlight of the series. And it was great to see this one focus a lot more on the characters and keep the goofy martial arts from the last movie to a minimum. Really great movie.
