Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Miguel P — 16 Oct 2010
Degeneration is all style, good animation, action, and explosives, but it has the most stale zombie plot ever and the worst voice acting ever.
The movie story line begins after RE3 but doesn't say if it happens before or after RE Veronica, RE4 or RE5. A terroist around the world is causing biological attacks with the G-virus. As well as the fear of the virus falling into the black market. Claire is at the airport to start working on a project to try to reveal the secrets of the company who took over the virus. An outbreak happens at the airport and Claire gets stuck there with a handful of survivors. Leon is summoned and blah, blah, blah, blah.
The movie is old news and as a RE fan I was disappointed. I've been playing this same plot since the first RE. The voice acting did not convince and it was cheesy. The animation was great and the action scenes were tight. It was great to see Leon in action. It's just an other retread and in my opinion made the series even more confusing. While RE4 and RE5 introduced the Oroburos I would think the zombies would be that way.
A disappointed entry but a really positive thing about it though. It's better then RE: Afterlife way better.
MP ** 2/5.
