Review of Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) by Made_It_Run R — 25 Jul 2009
This Resident Evil has nothing to do with the previous movies or the games either, save for the two main characters, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The story takes place shortly after the Racoon City disaster.
The public has somewhat learned that there is some sort of biological contamination that was produced by the Umbrella corporation, but some new company has set up and appears to be running the same virus and a new one.
There is a terrorist that is going around wreaking havoc with the virus and its up to Claire and Leon to stop them. It was a fairly entertaining movie shot entirely in CG. The animation itself was touch and go.
Some scenes looked so good it was almost real while other scenes were really bad. There was also some very bright colorful scenes that were uncharacteristic of the Resident evil franchise save for the last movie.
(Extinction) The voice acting wasn't the greatest, but thats to be expected when a movie is made in Japan then dubbed to English. Personally I would rather have seen it with subtitles like I do with most foreign films.
The dubbed versions never quite capture the emotion of the original actors. Anyways, this movie will not dissapoint if you liked the previous Resident Evils. Check it out.
