Review of Resident Evil (2002) by Matthew M — 22 Sep 2011
You know, it's actually not that bad - don't get me wrong, it's not going to be nominated for Best Picture any time soon, but it delivers on everything that it should do: it's violent, has women, zombies and gore.
The videogames were instant classics, paving the way for a new generation of gamers, and this film retains none of the suspense and fear of those, instead opting for a more playful, silly approach to killing zombies.
It's nothing amazing, and Jovovich is as terrible as ever in the lead performance, but it's mindless drivel, and sometimes that's what everyone needs...
