List of pluses and minuses:
+ nice acting and special effects.
- the action sequences were not quite what I looked for.
+ some exciting moments.
- silly, blood & gutsy and crude.
+ the storytelling is actually pretty well done and the plot has potential.
If you neglect the blood and guts, camp feeling, language and overall sillyness, you actually have a pretty decent scifi action film. Unfortunately it fails in its repetitiveness, lack of originality and poor action scenes. It got better with its sequel though, so it might pay to view them both at one sitting.
