Review of Reservoir Dogs (1992) by Richard F — 08 Jan 2013
Be warned the obscenity in this movie is excessive. The R-rating is well deserved.
I really didn't want to like this film, but I really did. It boils intense fear and cruelty and down to an hour and a half. But there are also moments of actual grace. Moments where people rise above themselves and even their better instincts, putting their lives on the line for someone else - even someone else they barely even know. Seems like a variation on Romans 5:7. There are no good men in this film, but there are men who for a span of a few seconds find themselves acting on the assumption that there might be.
