An intense and emotional story of survival. Bale, Davies, and Zahn were superb. Herzog has made this film unique with its almost documentary style cinematography emphasizing closeups on people, vast landscapes and nature.
The psychology and instability of each character is horrifying as the escape turns from nightmare to dream.
