Review of Rescue Dawn (2007) by Arseniy V — 28 Jun 2010
Quite a bit more depth here than your typical high-end guy-gets-trapped-in-shitty-situation film. No heroes, no villains, just people. People, playing their various roles within a high-stakes situation.
Only the very, very end struck me as a bit off, but that isn't nearly enough to mute this film's brilliance. In fact, Herzog is one of my favorite discoveries of late. Between this and Bad Lieutenant, it appears as though this guy can hang with the best of them.
