Review of Rescue Dawn (2007) by Tor M — 05 Jan 2011
The story of this film is amazing, but sadly the production nor the acting reach the level of the plot. The first half is quite poor. It's badly clipped and paced and it never gripped me. The second half is way better but still there is something that give me a feeling that both Herzog and Bale does a rather half hearted job. Zahn does a great performance though.
My negativity may be a resault of my earlier view of the original documentary, also produced by Herzog, "Little Dieter Needs To Fly". It's IDENTICAL when it comes to the description of his capativity. A bit disappointed with this one, but see the documentary in stead, it was way better in my opinion.
