Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Trent W — 06 Dec 2012
Requiem for a Dream is fast paced, gritty and tragic film which can hit like a ton of bricks, but only if you have a high threshold for melodrama. If you stop for a moment to wonder how such an extraordinary confluence of events could affect the synchronized utter degradation of every major character, you may lose the sense you are watching a film and get the feeling you are being subjected to propaganda.
"Maaaaa! I stole the T.V.": ridiculous or utterly tragic?
