Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Jackson L — 26 Apr 2013
The entire thing is just pure brilliance. No wait, optimum. The length is perfect, the shock value is necessary, the montage at the end is still as horrible as it was the first time seen; albeit not as shocking as the first time, the acting is superb, the soundtrack is great and just everything is optimum.
Oh yeah, and to anyone interested in seeing it for themselves, it's an incredibly intense film, not for the weak-stomached. (especially during the "inter" segment. It's also incredibly depressing, even more so than if you combined a Tool, Radiohead, Interpol, Nine Inch Nails, Smiths, La Dispute and Soundgarden song all together into one gigantic tear-jerker conglomeration.
