[FONT=Verdana]I've got no complaints when Clarence Brown directs Greta Garbo. There are many adult themes in this pre-code movie: homosexuality, alcoholism, sex outside of marriage, pregnancy, suicide, syphilis.
.. actually syphilis had to be replaced with "embezzeling" in the movie, which was based on a book called "The Green Hat." The author, Arlen, fictionalized the tragic exuberance of the Roaring 20's generation in England as F.
Scott Fitzgerald had in the US.[/FONT].
