Review of Repulsion (1965) by Kayla K — 17 Jul 2008
This movie was very surreal. I'm mildly vain, so the fact that the lead had my nose... well, it kept my attention.
I'm not as at home with the "art film" so the jarring length of some of the blank stares were uncomfortable... which I get is the point, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
What I do like, however, is the on-line debate about what is the root of her psychotic break... childhood molestation or sexual repression. Its amazing that some people actually feel she was enjoying her "rapings!".
