Review of Repulsion (1965) by Tara H — 19 Feb 2011
One of Polanski's earliest, and finest movies. Deneuve is great as the disturbed young woman. It begins quite slowly and even seems flat, but this reflects her perception of the world around her as she falls apart internally.
It's a similar theme to Polanski's later film, The Tenant. He builds suspense masterfully, and the final moments are incredibly sad.
