Review of Repulsion (1965) by Dan C — 06 Aug 2012
I may be just bored by old movies. Maybe this was historically important, considering its subject matter, or for some technical breakthrough. Some of the hallucinations are strikingly rendered, but on the whole it felt to me too meandering.
I like structure, personally. Am I a rube for that? Surely Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown are masterpieces, but I found this dry and academic.
