Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Emily G — 29 Mar 2010
I can see why this went cult so quickly. On first viewing I was wishing the music had been beter composed but it quickly grew on me. Lovely, dark vision replete with larger than life charachters, more than able to stand up to the genra.
I was astonished at Sarah Brightman's performance, for most of the movie she was actually singing well. (Of course then she got to her big "This is why I'm an internationally acclaimed recording star.
Here's what I actually sound like wen I'm performing legit." number and she fell right back into every bad habbit she's had since Phantom.) Tony Head just plain rocks.
