Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Ursula — 07 Nov 2008

I saw this movie at the Fantasy Filmfest in Germany and it really blew my mind! Granted, it's not a film for critics and you do have to stomach a lot of bloody and "gutty" scenes, but I simply enjoyed the whole thing.

I just read a review which argued that one weakness of the film is that there isn't really a song that the movie-goer can hum on the way home from the theater - I think that is a strong point! Compared to "Sweeney Todd" (another bloody musical ;-)), the music was much more complex and kept you surprised and didn't bore you at all.
