Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Alexb — 08 Jan 2009
A combination of familiar cultural traits reminiscent of both Blade runner and Cabaret with some of 1984, The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as well as some oriental/Tarantinian style (in its comic book parts and the fact that a very young girl is the main character who carries such a big burden), the result is an entertaining film that adheres loyally to its operatic spirit and is sure to impress upon the futurists, philosophers and Gothic-lovers alike.
