Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Hellholehorror — 17 Mar 2023
It has an interesting visual style and that is different to the vast majority of films and TV shows but I can’t help thinking that this unique style was used to hide a low budget. Still I quite liked it; especially the CGI world.
Good solid surround sound and powerful bass. My first and biggest gripe is that they were singing the whole time - there was basically no talking whatsoever. Some of the music was okay, for a musical.
It was a very operatic story of love lost and organ removal. Quite a cool concept but why did it have to be a musical and not a horror comedy? It also felt self-indulgent on the director’s part. Probably not worthy of your time.
