Review of Renegade (2004) by John R — 12 Aug 2016
160813: There are some big actors in this film including Juliette Lewis, Michael Madsen, Colm Meaney, and the gone but not forgotten Ernest Borgnine. The mystical side of this story is a bit weak and some of the related special effects are poor but the surround sound at 75 minutes scared the hell out of me.
The costumes, firearms, and horses are great. I had absolutely no memory of having previously watched Renegade but as it was open, and in my collection, I must have? Strange and a bit scary. Well worth watching and if you hang on long enough Lewis bares it all.
Near the conclusion, the film becomes excessively focused on what someone obviously considered their art. As a result, 3 stars maximum for what would've otherwise been a good film.
