Review of Rendition (2007) by Debbie H — 05 Dec 2013
The script seemed too interested in shoe-horning politics in, rather than constructing a good story. The drama fails. For instance, why does Witherspoon's character not care when her husband goes missing. No questions, no tears, no anger, no confusion, no anything. It's just awful. And, upon reuniting, nobody runs to each other. They stand there and stare. Even the 5-year-old kid! Most of the characters seem to lack some grounding, some reason as to why they are the way they are. It's a bit of a waste of a great cast. Good sets, tho.
Maybe this played better in 2007. I'm not sure, but it really didn't hold up for me.
