Review of Renaissance (2006) by Jacob M — 13 Nov 2007
With imagery ripped straight from a graphic novel I was floored by this innovative animated film. Excellent storytelling, great camera shots, and understated yet powerful "acting" all put this film high on my list of movies I could watch over and over.
Technically they did a fantastic job masking some of the faults that are always too apparent with overly realistic animated characters. Check Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, The Polar Express, and Beowulf for characters that just look dead inside.
The plot was a little thin, but it still kept my attention throughout.
Highly recommend it.
