Review of Renaissance (2006) by Chris V — 25 Jun 2008
This is an unfortunate case where the filmmakers thought that having a revolutionary visual style would be good enough to carry the entire film. Sadly, this is not the case. While all signs would point to me loving this (hence, an even greater feeling of disappointment), I could not get into it at all.
It's certainly great to look at (it quite literally looks like a graphic novel set into motion), but the story is murky and uninvolving, and it doesn't feel like they put any effort into anything other than the eye candy.
