I understand that Bill Maher thinks religion is ridiculous, but he attacks everyone he interviews in this movie with such a bitter, nasty cynicism that by the end I just ended up feeling sorry for him and wondering who traumatized him into hating spirituality so much.
He touched a little bit on why religion as an institution is harmful, and he should have made that his focus instead of attacking people's personal beliefs. It just made him look petty, when he actually has a good point, if he were to explore it more diplomatically.
