Had Religulous presented itself as being a serious, direct discussion about the whoas of organised religion, the outcome would have been negatively crude, short, and antagonistic. But this isn't a serious discussion, nor was it presented to be so.
This is a comic documentary by a director of comedy, starring a master of laughs, and it is extremely successful at being relentlessly funny as it dissects.
