Once you become an intelligent person and realise religion is completely disingenous and false, it becomes impossible to provide "insightful commentary" and "try to understand". If you want a clinical academic dissection of religion, read The God Delusion.
If you want to be shown why religion is completely laughable and funny ("Ridiculous"), this is the one to watch. The funniest and most outrageous film since Borat.
