Review of Reign Over Me (2007) by Kyle G — 21 May 2012
Not a great movie. It could have been better, with as intriguing a script as it has, but it's too often directed to be sloppy and sentimental. It also had opportunity to take advantage of so many promising concepts -- pop culture (Mel Brooks movies, Bruce Springsteen songs), world affairs (the NYPD, scary news coverage from the Middle East), and even the city itself -- but doesn't grab anything by the throat.
