Review of Reign of Fire (2002) by Cody M — 28 Nov 2009
Silly but straight-faced flick in which the human race becomes an endangered species after a brood of dragons are awoken beneath London. A small community of survivors (led by Christian Bale) try to remain hidden from the reptilian menace, until a group of American soldiers led by a nutty dragonslayer (a bald, bearded Matthew McConaughey) show up with a plan to rid the world of the dragons.
An interest concept is hampered by a poor script and laughable science, and a reasonable cast is given nothing much to do in a movie that, while not terrible, is not particular fun either.
