Review of Reds (1981) by Daniel P — 16 Jul 2007
Political drama and a sweeping romance all in one film..only Warren Beartty could do it right. With a terrific cast including Diane Keaton as the femenist Louise Bryant and Jack Nicholson as the morosly drunken playwright Eugene O'Neill.
The film is cut throat and for a political drama that runs over three hours, it makes you question you values. It's one of those silent masterpieces if you know what I mean, and it's one of my favorites.
