Review of Reds (1981) by Karen G — 11 Jan 2008
Although I applaud Warren Beatty's efforts to pursue such a topic with a convinction rare in many modern films, the script and direction lacks a sophisticated approach to a dramatic concept. The movie should have focused more on Reed's political career (hence, major character development), and less on the overbearing love-story so that the low-key romance underscores what is truly important.
