Review of Red White & Blue (2010) by Oliver L — 08 Oct 2011
Erica (Amanda Fuller) is an emotionally damaged bar hopper who sleeps around with plenty of guys but never allows herself to get close to anyone until she meets Nate (Noah Taylor). When Nate first moves into her apartment building she rejects his attempts at being just friends, but eventually gives in when her loneliness starts taking a toll and everyone else just wants sex. With the friendship looking like it may develop into something more, Nate and Erica are out having drinks one night when he comes back to the table and finds that she's disappeared, now Nate will stop at nothing to find her.
This is a dark and brutal indie thriller, with it's indie style cinematography adding to the realistic atmosphere, making it a chilling revenge film. This film actually tells two different stories that eventually converge when Amanda Fuller's character disappears. It is a bit slow starting off, and once the action starts up it may not seem that great, but the pay off is the third segment with Noah Taylor's character Nate which brutal and intense.
