Review of Red, White and Blue (1971) by Kevin B — 22 Jul 2011
This deserves credit for trying something different: telling a revenge story from the points of view of the three principle characters--the victim, the perpetrator, and the avenger--while painting all of them as sympathetic, though none guiltless.
I wasn't drawn into any of these characters much, however (except the girl victim to an extent). A sort of avant garde style of alternating between long, uninterrupted takes and ultra-quick cutting also proved very distracting.
