Here is why I think half the people that have watched Red State don't like it. Most have not witnessed first hand what these fanatic religious "prophets" have done or said about family or friends. I live in the middle of Missouri. People like this are very real. (the Phelps family aside) Now granted they may not all have a small armory in their basement but you can bet their meth head cousins do. I believe.

Kevin Smith did a wonderful job on this film. It may not be his best or his worst but when I like a movie it is because I identify with it. On some technical base they're could be improvement but I think the overall message was pretty clear. People are crazy and religion will be the downfall.
