Review of Red Sparrow (2018) by Dave R — 06 Mar 2018
Women can kick butt. How do I know? Well they certainly have lately in the movies. No longer are just the guys doing the spy work and fighting, but the ladies are more and more. The most recent case is Red Sparrow with Jennifer Lawrence.
Here Lawrence is made into a seducing spy machine who doesn't fight as much as say Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde, but is so very crafty. This one does take its' time to tell the story which is noticeable, but the payoff is worth the wait.
The cast is very good, and the action is not anywhere near over the top (which is somewhat refreshing). There are some heavier sexual themes in the film, so be warned of the R rating.
