Review of Red Sorghum (1988) by Gary T — 10 Jul 2014
Wow...fantastic.....powerful......i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a great movie 2 watch......its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie.......i think that li gong, jiu ji, cui cun-hua, teng rujun, jiang wen, play good roles/parts throughout this movie......i think that the director of this art house/international/drama movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie......
Like Zhang's later film, The Road Home (1999), Red Sorghum is narrated by the main characters' grandson, but Red Sorghum lacks the flashback framing device of The Road Home (the viewer never sees the narrator).
The cinematography by cinematographer Gu Changwei makes use of rich, intense colors. Zhang himself was a cinematographer prior to his directorial debut, and worked closely with Gu.
I think that this is such a really powerful drama movie 2 watch its got a good cast thorughout this movie.....its got good fight scenes thorughout this movie.....i think that this is such a really powerful drama movie 2 watch its got a good cast throughout this movie.....i think that this is such a really sad movie 2 watch its got a great cast throughout this movie......i think that this is such a really powerful drama movie 2 watch with a great cast throughout this movie.......its got a good soundtrack throughout this movie.....i think that this is such a really sad movie 2 watch with a great cast throughout this movie......
