Review of Red Sonja (1985) by Bill G — 01 Aug 2008
Ramshackle cousin to the Conan the Barbarian films, starring a painfully awkward (though supremely statuesque) Brigitte Nielson as the titular, flaming-haired heroine. In spite of its reputation as one of the bigger turkies to emerge from the sword 'n sorcery subgenre, it's actually a perfectly diverting piece of B-movie entertainment, one which ultimately earns slightly higher marks than the overly campy Conan the Destroyer.
