Review of Red Sonja (1985) by Mark N — 13 May 2012
Conan fans will love more of the same from Arnie as the barbarian love interest to Nielsen's sword swinging heroine. Sure it lacks quotable lines, a strong villain and spectacular effects its non the less a decent romp through matte backdrops, stilted monsters and a thankful lack of rubber masks and stage sets.
Nostalgia for the film and the era helps enormously but I non the less find myself enjoying the campy fun every time.
