Review of Red Sands (2009) by Brian C — 19 Apr 2009
This film had some interesting ideas in it. A decent enough script, an enemy fighting in the shadows...psychological breakdowns of the characterrs.
I like how each character had some guilt and secrets to hide...and it is through that the enemy strikes. Some great ideas here.
To be honest, I think the story would have worked just as well without the Djinn, and just kept as the characters breaking down and killing each other.
The desert setting worked very well, and gave a real sense of the kind of fear that soldiers can experience, and then add to that the unknown enemy...very well done.
