A brilliant masterpiece from director John dahl starring nicholas cage in one of his best roles of his career playing a drifter who is mistaked by the bar owner as the hit man he has hired to kill his wife. The only problem is that nicholas cgae end sup falling in love with the bartender's wife played by lara flynn boyle.
When the real hit man shows up played with menace by dennis hopper everything falls apart and on top of that the bartender's ife pays nicholas cage money to kill her husband.
A twisted and fascinating film noir.
