A very good modern day film noir. Nicolas Cage plays a weak character very well, and Hopper plays a crazy ass very well. The plot is somewhat unoriginal (though that comes with the turf in film noir: every noir pic is about money) but very twisty and unexpected.
John Dahl has some very subtle visual motiffs thrown into the pot and all this makes a very entertaining, good film.
