Review of Red Road (2006) by Michael K — 31 Dec 2007
Great British film about a CCTV operator in Glasgow. Right from the start I was drawn into the world of the film. Despite the sparse use of dialogue the film remains intriguing and lets you follow your own path and thoughts about what's happening on screen.
Although it's not a heavyweight discussion film it successfully taps into many issues like voyeurism, surveillance and privacy but I'm only skirting over them. I thought it was a very clever film without being difficult to follow and is comfortably one of the best I've seen from last year.
Highly recommended.
