Review of Red Road (2006) by Elysium L — 11 Feb 2009
This is a hypnotic film-making that is at the same time authentic and dreamlike. Director Andrea Arnold makes her way into the one of the promising directors of today with this film. Once it starts, it never lets go.
Red Road is a film about revenge, grief and redemption. It is also very chilling and eerie thriller that has truly disturbing and nightmarish moments in it. Andrea Arnold is an artist to look out for.
Red Road is effective if not without it's flaws.
