Review of Red Road (2006) by Marita L — 01 Apr 2010
Interesting movie about a CCTV operator who one day recognizes a person from her past on the camera. She starts to follow him, and the suspense lies in the fact that we do not know what has happened between these two people in the past. The man seems to be a somewhat dodgy character, living in the Glasgow East End estate "Red Road", and why does she show such an interest in him?
It is basically a likable and interesting film, though a bit on the slow side. It also begins better than it ends, in my opinion. Is is also quite a gritty movie, but having been to Glasgow I can confirm that parts of that city really is quite gritty (but to be fair, Glasgow is also a nice place to travel to). Anyway, the actors did a great job, and it is a film well worth watching, if you`d like to see something un-Hollywood-like.
